We are ALL about WINTER here in the Georgian Triangle. During the months of January, February, and March you can get your WINTER on! From the amazing outdoor activities, to snow-driven attractions, to warm and cozy spots for fine food and locally crafted beverages, to the boutique shops of our quaint downtowns' of Collingwood, Creemore, Thornbury, Clarksburg, and Meaford. We have events and winter-inspired entertainment throughout the region. You don't want ot miss out on all this WINTER action!
During the winter months, downhill skiing and snowboarding reign supreme in South Georgian Bay, as it is known as the premier downhill destination in Ontario. With a variety of resorts and terrain parks to choose from, skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels can find their perfect run. For those seeking a more serene winter adventure, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are a great way to experience the region's winter wonderland. With miles of groomed trails and pristine wilderness to explore, Nordic enthusiasts can take in the beauty of the area at a more leisurely pace.

BUT, we are NOT just about skis and boards! The winter heats up in our region with attractions, theatre, tours and events. There is so much to explore and so much fun to be had. Winter may just become your favourite season...

Maple Season in Simcoe County
As winter loosens its grip and spring starts flirting with the landscape, Simcoe County wakes up to one of Canada’s sweetest seasons – maple season. This is the moment when the sap starts flowing, and everything feels just a little warmer, stickier, and tastier.

Join Paz on Sunday morning for a deep journey of ecstatic dance. Arrive and settle into a safe and inclusive space and ground into your body, setting whatever intention feels right for the experience, allow the music to support you in an exploration of dance through different rhythmic intensities.​

This market is more than fresh produce and handmade goods. It’s a warm gathering place in the heart of winter, a space where neighbours meet, stories are shared, and local passion shines. This two-day artisan market will showcase 50 vendors with handcrafted goods—from jewelry and pottery to woodwork and textiles. Free entry invites everyone to explore a variety of creators and participate in hands-on workshops—stained glass, needle felting, and more....​

Weekly Saturday Healthy Hike
Every Saturday, our volunteer leader, The Healthy Hiker, Linda Murphy, will lead a group on a beautiful hike, rain, snow, or shine! Hikes are all either local to the Collingwood area, or no more than a one-hour drive from Collingwood. All are welcome, including dogs-on-leash.

Gayety Theatre Shows
A 300-seat (325 person) capacity on Collingwood’s main street. The Theatre’s Art Deco appearance cleverly hides the modern amenities that make it a wonderful venue for the performing arts. The auditorium boasts a state of the art sound system supported by theatrical lighting, a sprung stage with ample wings on both sides, air-conditioning, comfortable, raked seating and a fully licensed bar.
