WINTER Fun is HERE!

We are ALL about WINTER here in the Georgian Triangle. During the months of January, February, and March you can get your WINTER on! From the amazing outdoor activities, to snow-driven attractions, to warm and cozy spots for fine food and locally crafted beverages, to the boutique shops of our quaint downtowns' of Collingwood, Creemore, Thornbury, Clarksburg, and Meaford.

We have events and winter-inspired entertainment throughout the region. You don't want ot miss out on all this WINTER action!

During the winter months, downhill skiing and snowboarding reign supreme in South Georgian Bay, as it is known as the premier downhill destination in Ontario. With a variety of resorts and terrain parks to choose from, skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels can find their perfect run. For those seeking a more serene winter adventure, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are a great way to experience the region's winter wonderland. With miles of groomed trails and pristine wilderness to explore, Nordic enthusiasts can take in the beauty of the area at a more leisurely pace.

BUT, we are NOT just about skis and boards! The winter heats up in our region with attractions, theatre, tours and events. There is so much to explore and so much fun to be had. Winter may just become your favourite season...

Weekly Saturday Healthy Hike

Explore the beauty of Collingwood and areas! Every Saturday, volunteer leaders, The Healthy Hiker, Linda Murphy, will take you on a beautiful hike, rain, snow, or shine! 

Hikes are all either local to the Collingwood area, or no more than a one-hour drive from Collingwood. All are welcome, including dogs-on-leash.

Retro Pond Skim

Grab your retro gear and spectator spot (and prepare to get wet) as you watch skiers and riders try to skim across the pond at the bottom of the Smart Alec trail.

Pond Skim Rules:

- Retro costumes are encouraged! 

- Participants are limited to ONE run per person

- HELMETS ARE MANDATORY FOR PARTICIPATION

- Skiers may not use ski poles

Wine, Beer & Cider Tours

Wine tours are a popular choice, as the region boasts several local vineyards that offer tastings and pairings with exceptional views. Whether you're a connoisseur or a casual sipper, a wine tour is a great way to sample some of the area's best vintages:

Alternatively, you can use tour services such as the Beer Bus Company to visit more than one location and have a designated driver, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.

Gayety Theatre Shows

A 300-seat (325 person) capacity on Collingwood’s main street. The Theatre’s Art Deco appearance cleverly hides the modern amenities that make it a wonderful venue for the performing arts. The auditorium boasts a state of the art sound system supported by theatrical lighting, a sprung stage with ample wings on both sides, air-conditioning, comfortable, raked seating and a fully licensed bar.
