The Culture That Makes Living Water Resorts Feel Like Home

A group of people in a park hold a red ribbon in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. One person wears a plaid jacket. Trees are in the background.

At Living Water Resorts, guests often talk about what they enjoyed: the waterfront views, the time together, the celebrations, the laughter, the sense of escape.

But behind every memorable stay is something less visible, and far more powerful: a culture built with intention.

Our culture is not a script. It’s not a slogan we dust off for special occasions. It’s how we show up, how we work, how we treat one another, and how we create the kind of environment where people genuinely feel welcome.

This is the heart of Living Water Resorts: our mission, our promise, our values, and the service standards that guide how we deliver experiences worth returning to.

Our Mission

Living Water Resorts is committed to creating a fun and caring community for all our valued guests, members, and team members.

That single sentence reflects what we believe hospitality should be. Not simply providing accommodations but building a community where people feel known, supported, and uplifted.

Because when a resort feels like a community, guests don’t just visit, they come back. They bring family. They celebrate milestones. They make traditions.

Our Promise

A simple philosophy governs how we live: Serving Inspiring Experiences.

This promise is the standard we hold ourselves to, day in and day out. It’s about creating experiences that feel personal and uplifting, not transactional. It’s about the moments that turn into stories guests tell later.

Serving Inspiring Experiences is also an internal promise to each other: that the way we lead, support, and collaborate will be worthy of the same care we extend to our guests.

Our Values: The 4 C’s

Our values are not aspirational posters on a wall. They are the foundation of how Living Water Resorts operates and grows.

We call them The 4 C’s:

  • Character

  • Competency

  • Chemistry

  • Caring

These are our core cultural components: our guiding principles. And they shape the kind of community we work to create.

1) Character

Character is what makes people believe in you. It is essential for individual success and for us to function successfully together.

At Living Water Resorts, character begins with integrity. Integrity means adhering to a moral code of honesty, courage, strength, and truthfulness.

Because integrity affects everyone around you.

  • When someone cheats, the “success” is false.

  • When someone breaks a promise, it signals their word is meaningless.

  • When someone lies, they deceive others and lose respect.

These actions damage reputations, break trust, and weaken relationships. And in hospitality, trust is everything. Without it, teamwork fails. Service falters. Culture erodes.

That’s why we protect character - one decision at a time, every day.

2) Competency

Competency asks a practical question:

Do you have the skill set to do your job effectively and consistently? And just as importantly, do you have the people skills and patience to serve others well?

To create “Memories that Matter” for our guests, our team members must bring skill, consistency, and passion to the work.

We also believe competency is something we build, not something we assume. If a team member is having difficulty fulfilling a role, we want them to reach out. We are committed to helping people succeed in their positions and grow toward excellence.

Because when our people improve, the guest experience improves. And that is how inspiring experiences become the norm, not the exception.

3) Chemistry

Hospitality is a team sport.

Chemistry means we work together as a unified team, recognizing no one is perfect and that each of us has strengths and weaknesses. It’s about learning how to collaborate with respect, humility, and optimism.

We aim to recognize each other’s strengths and build synergy because we believe in this idea:

1 + 1 = 3 (not 2).

That’s what happens when people bring the best of themselves and help bring out the best in others.

Chemistry also requires humility. It’s not about ego or self-centered behaviour. It’s about raising up those around us so each person can grow toward their potential.

4) Caring

Caring is the value that turns a workplace into a community.

Caring allows us to have empathy for others and live a life based on affection, love, and compassion for the people around us.

It can be tempting to fall into selfishness or focus only on personal goals, but life is more rewarding when we think about what others are experiencing.

Caring means:

  • Providing a listening ear

  • Noticing when someone needs help

  • Supporting the community without asking for a reward

At Living Water Resorts, caring also has practical behaviours we commit to:

  • Treat people with kindness and generosity

  • Help people in need by doing good deeds

  • Be sensitive to people’s feelings

  • Never be mean or hurtful

  • Think about how your actions will affect others

This is what it looks like when Love is not just a word—but a daily choice.

Our Service Culture Standards

At Living Water Resorts, our day-to-day goal remains consistent: create a fun and caring community.

We accomplish that by building a Service Culture from within.

Service culture is not a checklist. It’s based on who we are:

  • our attitude

  • our outlook

  • our morals

  • our vision

Every team member plays a role in every aspect of our culture through actions and interactions. That’s why we align around clear service standards, introduced and reinforced through our Serving Inspiring Experiences Classroom Session.

In that session, team members learn our service standards:

  • Deliver

  • Anticipate

  • Resolve

Deliver

Do what we said we would do consistently, professionally, and with warmth.

Anticipate

Look ahead. Notice what guests need before they have to ask. Proactive service is the difference between “good” and “remarkable.”

Resolve

When issues arise, we don’t deflect. We solve. We own it. We ensure the guest feels cared for throughout the solution, not just satisfied at the end.

Team Member Recognition Program

Culture is strengthened when it’s celebrated.

Each year, Living Water Resorts recognizes team members who exemplify our core values and who consistently deliver on Serving Inspiring Experiences for both guests and fellow team members.

It is one more way we honour our staff and show how much we appreciate the work they do.

The Result: A Culture Guests Can Feel

When people talk about Living Water Resorts, they may not use terms like “character” or “chemistry.” They may not know the words “Deliver, Anticipate, Resolve.”

But they feel the result.

They feel it in a warm greeting. In an extra thoughtful touch. In a problem handled with calm confidence. In a team that supports one another behind the scenes. In a community that feels fun, caring, and real.

That is what we mean when we say:

Serving Inspiring Experiences.

And that is how we bring Love in Action to life... every day.
